KATHMANDU — The fifth edition of the Digital Nepal Conclave, one of Nepal's most prominent technology sector conferences, will be held this Thursday, Bhadra 11, at The Plaza in Lalitpur. Organized by ICT Foundation Nepal, this year's gathering carries the theme "Reimagining Governance, Data and the Digital Economy."

The Conclave has run annually for the past five years, building on the Digital Nepal Framework the government introduced in 2019. Policy dialogues on digital transformation began in 2020 and have continued through the conclave series since. This year's edition places particular emphasis on the new government's push for good governance, widening the conversation to data-driven governance and economic policy.

The program will include more than three keynote presentations, five thematic panel discussions and a power dialogue session, alongside talks from subject experts. Under the Digital Spark segment, more than ten Nepal-based innovations currently in development will be showcased. Organizers expect over 500 participants in person, along with international experts, senior government officials, members of the House of Representatives and ministers.

Razan Lamsal, Chairperson of ICT Foundation Nepal, said the program's main goal is to bring the private sector, government and international organizations together for joint discussion in support of the government's plan to build a Digital Nepal, with a focus on policy reform and implementation. Lamsal added that the initiative also seeks to integrate ongoing government and private-sector efforts on technology, innovation and the digital ecosystem into the broader campaign.

Nepali-built technologies TingTing and Third Factor AI are providing special collaboration for this year's event, joining more than 20 other Nepali technologies on display. Attendees will get hands-on demonstrations of AI tools including TingTing Omni Live Interaction, TingTing Outbound and TingTing Responsive Agent.

Online travel platform Sasto Ticket and fintech company Fonepay are serving as the event's Powered By Partners. Additional support comes from NAS IT, CAN Federation, Ncell Business, Sky IT, Kata Ho, Yeti Cloud, DishHome, NASA X, Re-Security, Code X School, Nepal Telecom and Global Spark, among others.

Discussions will be organized around three strategic tracks. A session on Governance and Digital Public Infrastructure will cover institutional digital reform, citizen-centric smart services, integrated digital identity, policy innovation and data-driven decision-making. A second session on Data, AI and Cybersecurity will take up national data sovereignty, ethical AI use, cybersecurity, digital trust and cross-sector data interoperability. A third session on Digital Economy and Innovation will address digital transformation, investment opportunities and the future digital workforce, while a closing session will focus on political commitment to digital leadership.

Organizers say the Conclave aims to strengthen policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, investment opportunities and strategic collaboration for Nepal's digital future by bringing together government, policymakers, the technology industry, startups, investors, academia, development partners and young innovators on a single platform.
